Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is for: 1) those seeking to become Catholic, who are unbaptized, 2) those baptized in another Christian denomination, or 3) those who were baptized Catholics as infants but not raised Catholic, and thus did not receive further catechetical formation, nor the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. The process is designed to help the individual know about our Christian tradition and have an understanding about the commitment they are making. Those enrolled in this process should understand that catechesis does not end with the reception of the initiation sacraments. The process of initiation extends over a period of months. Faith formation sessions are weekly, culminating in the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Season. The Office of Adult Formation coordinates the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Inquiry classes, the first stage of the process, are held several times during the year. Classes usually begin in the Fall. You may contact the Office of Adult Formation for more information about RCIA. **The Office of Religious Education coordinates Sacraments and The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children/Youth. |
